INGREDIENTS
125g butter
1 cup milk
4 large eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 cups cake flour
3tsp baking powder
METHOD
When baking the Rainbow cake I just divide the batter into equal quantities and colour each with the desired colour using the Cake Flora gel colours.
When baking with added colours I do bake at a lower temperature(160) for slightly longer.
Bring butter and milk to the boil then switch off
Beat eggs and sugar till light
Sift flour and baking powder
Add essence to egg mixture
Add flour and baking powder to egg mix and blend well with a metal spoon
Add hot milk mix to egg mix and stir with the spoon until well mixed.
Bake @ 160/180 C until knife comes out clean( cooking time depends on dish) usually between 30-45 min(sometimes longer when doing larger cakes)
