CAFFEINE CONTRIBUTIONS
Greetings fellow foodies, chefs and all lovers of the culinary arts!
We’re thrilled to once again be bringing you the continent’s tastiest food and wine event, now in its ever-so-lucky 13th year! And in 2017, the Good Food and Wine Show promises to be more delicious than ever before.
Our recipe for success includes global Michelin master, Marco Pierre White, who’ll be joining forces with South Africa’s own epicurean darling, Jan Hendrik Van Der Westhuizen to headline the show. They star alongside your favourite TV personalities and kitchen maestros in a host of free food theatres that are always such a highlight! That’s together with the amazing, bountiful array of food stalls, wine tastings and interactive displays… Not too mention the largest Elephant Cake in the country!
So take out your measuring cups – er, diaries – and make a date with us for our all-new, freshly baked foodie spectacular!
Yours, Maria
Maria Chieppa, MD of the Food and Wine Show, FMEA

"As an author I appreciate any opportunity to connect with interested readers. The Good Food and Wine Show bring like-minded people together and I was surprised at how many of the people at my food demonstration (at the Eat Well theatre) came specifically to meet me. It obviously also creates a platform where people can connect with me. As a food writer I also enjoyed connecting with new suppliers and exciting new products, it is also very important to stay inspired and the session with Marco Pierre White was a once in a life time experience.

"My approach to food stems from my childhood, where I used to watch papa cook, while I set on the kitchen counter taking in his techniques and food aromas. it was simple and inexpensive ingredients that he used but comforting. Food opens a door to know a particular persons interests and community. It was really a revelation to myself to experience appreciation from GF&WS customers through the viewing and comments of my food demonstration and book sales. Hoping they would get to see me more in that space of the GF&WS promoting #realSouthAfricanfood #Johanne14 #ChefHope."

“The Good Food and Wine Show is the biggest platform in terms of the number of people that come together and the type of clients and exhibitors at one show. We decided to launch Ginifer, a Joburg dry gin there as we’d be able to reach all our interested clients.”

“Now a lot of people know more about Albany. We are very happy about the way things went with our stand as well as with the Baking Theatre. Big ups to the Good Food & Wine Show organisers!”

"I loved the interesting mix of vendors this year - from dim sum to tacos, samoosas to bitterballen, crocodile kebabs to sushi, it felt like we ate our way around the world in a few hours! There was very little repetition and LOTS of variety. My personal prize for Best in Show goes to the gluten free chocolate brownie from Brownies and Downies - and I'm not normally a gluten-free fan. It was moist, gooey, and wickedly chocolatey. We fought over every last crumb and cursed ourselves for not having bought more of them."
